Whats the quickest way to cancel a 'Crop' operation?

After drawing your crop bounding area, go up to the Options Bar and just to the left of the Palette Well is a 'Cancel Current Crop Operation' icon.

Tip: An even qicker solution is to hit the 'Esc' key on your keyboard.

Why are most of my 'Filters' grayed out?

More than often this is becuase your document Mode is any other than RGB and or your current bits/channel is in 16 bit mode.

Solution:
Go to the 'Image/Mode' menu command option and revert your document to RGB mode.
Also check and make sure 'Image/Mode' 8/bits Channel

How can I save or preserve my complex selections before closing down the file?

While your complex selection is still active:
1. Go to the 'Select' menu command and choose 'Save Selection'.
2. When prompted, give the Selection a 'Name', Operation Channel, then 'OK' to commit changes.

Then go to 'Channels Palette' and notice the new channel.

3. Finally, anytime you want to use that same complex selection, go 'Select/Load Selection'.
4. Then choose the previous saved selection 'Name' from the 'Channel' drop down list.

Alternatively to step 3,4

3b. Go to the Channels Palette
4b. Select that previously saved channel, then at the bottom of the Channels Palette choose 'Load Channel as Selection' command icon.

How can I get Photoshop to to resize the Document Window along with my image when I Zoom in or out?

Simply go to the 'Edit/Preferences' menu command option.
Then in the 'General' preferences area make sure the 'Zoom Resizes Window' option is ticked.
Then 'OK' to commit changes in the preferences.

My type Layers appear jaggied. How can I correct this?

More than often its becuase an anti-alliasing option is not specified.

To correct this first select the 'Type Tool (T).
Then choose from an anti-aliasing option from the aa dropdown selection list.
