Whats the best way to paint a car?

make a new layer and color it in the color you want. then lower the opacity so ou can see the layer with the car on it. select the car (i suggest using the polygon lasso for most of the car and then the magnetic lasso for the wheel arcs), make sure that you deselect all the badges, lights, windows and grills. then invert the selection and press delete (make sure you are on the layer with the new color), that should make it so that only the parts you want painted have the new color on them, then switch the color layer to overlay, and your done. you can fiddle around with the opacity of the color layer to change the effect if ya want to too.
