The transperant background is easy, you simply take a picture of whats directly behind the moniter (keep in mind what width lens your camera has, as it easily gets wrong) and then use it as you wallpaper.. :)

Actually i dont really remember how i made mine, since i almost made it my mistake! :P

Yea, he is really showing off dude, this is a chop! He doesn't really own one.....seems to me like your showing off by bringing up that you had one when they first came out....as far as you not being happy about overpaying for it, maybe if you weren't so eager to impress others by getting one as soon as they came out you wouldn't have overpaid for it.....
