Are u using paint? Lol. Take a look at the photoshop bible (google it). Its amazing for beginners. Just take everything step by step, and take your time learning ;)

I think you need to read some of the tutorials and if your using paint, dont! Try the trial version of photoshop or if your looking for a free program, try Gimp( its very similar to photoshop).

i actually was able to get the photoshop cs3 7.0 for free!!!!!
but, im not gonna say how, cause its probly illegal....lol
