Since seeing Wonderboys first post I have thought to do something with a Superhero theme for him cause the name is a great superhero name. When he posted the Mercedes CLR Widebody chop I got an idea and asked him if I could use it. He thought I wanted to toon the car but in essence I wanted to do more than that.
I have always been a huge fan of comics and actually entertained a career penciling comics. But thats another story.
Anyhow, heres what I came up with. A little montage for the "boy of Wonder" !
Before I claim too much credit here let me say this is based on a work by a terrific comic artist, and one of my faves, Ken Lashley whose famous for his work on DC's "Flash".
So he gets most of the props, but I of course did my thing with a couple images, brushed the BG, did the graphics and added WB's tooned Merc.

Here he is folks... WONDERBOY !

...what books did you pencil on?
I never really got anything published.
I submitted art to Marvel and DC for several years and finally improved my skills enough to get a letter from Tom Brevoort at Marvel, who at the time was the Submissions Editor.
He requested a couple of blue line pages based on a ficticious storyline involving X-Factor. I did a splash page and a couple muti panels based on his script. I didnt hear from him for several months. When I did it was a bad time for me. I had moved, just started a new job and I knew I wouldnt be able to meet the deadlines. So I had to pass on on it. He wanted to hook me up with a new creative team for a few one shot episodes in Marvel Comics Presents. Which was being used as the testing ground for new talent at the time. So, I totally blew the opportunity. I have always suffered from a lack of confidence when it came to art, and didnt think it would provide me a living, so I never pursued it with the right attitude and sufficient enthusiasm.
I have done a lot of free lance work over the years and made some money but still havent releyed on it as a career. Who knows if I ever will.
So, let that be a lesson to you all.
You will only get so many opportunities in life. Think carefully and choose wisely. :D
