Dude, thats one nice ride. If you want people to use this for a base I suggest you post a bigger image (hi-res), at least 1600 by 1200. If you post a bigger image I'll have a go.

I wouldn't want to chop it anyway. It already looks like sex on wheels.

IgorDesign
06-05-2009, 08:55 AM
My suggestion: take another shot at about 1600X1200, and take it from 3/4 angle (I gess this angle is too hard for choping, so not many people want to join).
Oh, I'll join the battle too.

Oh yeh, I agree.
That suckers sweet just the way it is bro.
How about a Challenge to make this Challenger as hot as yours?

GimpChoppa
06-06-2009, 08:43 AM
Davinci ^^ What, you dont think this is as hot? Ugly wheels maybe

PSDavinci
06-06-2009, 11:22 AM
Actually I think all Challengers are hot, its just that this pic looked more stock and chop-able than Harry's.
What does everybody think about havin a little battle using this pic?
I think this would still satisfy his request.

IgorDesign
06-06-2009, 11:48 AM
I would chop it, but I actualy don't know what to do with it. It's easy when you chop a tuner of exotic so you can get creative with diferent bumpers and stuff, but when it comes to muscle it wouldn't look cool puting some extreme bumpers to it.
I never choped a muscle car before, so it would be a good test for me to see what I can come up with.
As long as everybody else is on board we can start choping Davinci's base picture.

PSDavinci
06-06-2009, 12:15 PM
Yeah, like you say its definitely a different challenge.
You basically have to understand the typical hot rod.
Its not to say you cant modify the body like you would a tuner but in reality this isnt something normally done, especially to a classic car such as this.
I would suggest doing a web search and scope out some of the modded versions of the car first. Anything from custom paint, tires/wheels, blown motors, street setups, drag setups, low rider, Trans-am, 4 x 4, maybe blending some design cues from the new vesion challenger, theres a lot of possibilities here as well, and since this is a studio shot you have the background to work with too. Im sure you especially bro could dream up something cool. :D

.. define "half tuned"?

'cause from what I see, quite a bit was done. Challenger T/A ftw (which is the above image, sans graphics and plus mods)

Damn Harry, thats a beautiful car.
Is it the 383 or 440 ?
I cant make out the badge on the hood but it looks like its says 440.
Growing up in upstate N.Y., my whole family on my moms side were basicaly gear heads. One uncle and cousins were loyal Mopar fanatics. My dad was into Chevys and another uncle who raced Super Modified Stock cars, was big into Fords. So I have fond memories of muscle cars all through my youth. Our family gathered alot, usually at my grandparents house which was on a stretch of road in the country outside of Watkins Glen. The place looked like Muscle Car central most of the time. We had a close family and everybody was tight but nevertheless a few beers usually led to smack talk about cars which always ended with lining them up for a few runs down the quarter mile we had striped off in front of the house.
It was entertainment and good wholesome fun for all.
The first car I got to pilot down that strip of asphalt (at age thirteen) was my cousins 1970 440 six pack Challenger. I could barely see over the dashboard and still reach the pedals while grabing the pistol-grip shifter. It was wild and I remember I was scared sh!tless. This car, in stock form excluding headers and slicks was still a freakin nightmare of horsepower and torque. It looked alot like yours except it had a flat black hood and stripe around the rear end.
If you ever want to get rid of it, let me know.

lol i will, When i was 9 we went to my aunts house for thanksgiving dinner, anyway my half brother was there and he needed to get something from the store so i went with him in his 68' camaro to the store and i was also scared sh!tless. The road was very wet that day and he drifted around corners in the old contry side then accidently starded losing control eventually it stopped. Anyway 2 years later he carshed his camro and now owns a 07' GMC Sierra, 96'Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, and a Lancer evo.

my cousin had an 1973 orange formula 400 firebird, headers came out the side, hurt your eardrums!(if you could hear it over the "peace of mind" cassette!)
he taught me how to burn out and do cookies in a parking lot when i was 15!

Well...most of them that is. :D

Whos up for the Challenger Challenge?
We dont get much Ol Skool or classic Muscle Car submittals around here anymore so I think it would be a nice diversion from the norm and a chance for most of you guys to try your hand at something different.
I may give it a go if theres enough interest.

So far it looks as though we have :

Harry
Igor
Vanilla
Gimp (I believe he said he would do it)
and me

Come on guys/gals anymore takers?
SuzQ, Raven, love to have a girl in on this and I know you both are into the hot rods.
Suz has done a few killer Challengers in the past and certainly knows her way around a Muscle car. If memory serves, she once had a Challenger sig.
Maybe she'll resurrect it for the challenge!
SINiC you up for it?
We need a few more solid entrants and then we will make it official.

OK everyone, tomorrow is the 11th and the due date for the " new look, new battle "
competition, and since most of you were part of that one I will let you all determine how much time you want in terms of due date here.
I guess everyone seems to like the Challenger pic I posted, so that can be confirmed as the one we go with.
Hash out a due date and the Challenger Challenge will be official.
Since Harry is the one who initiated this it seems fair he gets the nod as the battle host.
That is if he wants to give it shot.

harrygillis
06-11-2009, 07:35 AM
I'll give it a shot........what do I do

PSDavinci
06-11-2009, 07:52 AM
All those who participate will pm you their entries.
You will then start a new thread titled "Challenger Challenge" or "Challenger Chop Off" or whatever you want to call it, set up a poll for the voting and insert all the entries, making sure to include everyones names with their entry.
We will help you through it bro, its not too difficult.

So then, everyone pm Harry your chops when ready !

IgorDesign
06-11-2009, 12:01 PM
Yes sir.:D I started mine and I can tell you key word for this chop: stealth :spy:

i propose two to three weeks......

I think two weeks is the max we should go.
I dont think this should be much of a time consuming chop and we dont want people to loose interest.
How about we make the due date 2 weeks from today, Thursday June 25th?

harrygillis
06-11-2009, 04:25 PM
I agree with Vanilla how do you chage a black car to a colored car

@harrygillis I sent you my entry.
It didn't turn out that good but what can I do, If I worked on it any more I think I would go crazy.
This chop proves the point that I'm not that good at choping muscle cars.

PSDavinci
06-15-2009, 09:29 AM
^aww cmon man, I cant believe the Igor is out of ideas!

IgorDesign
06-15-2009, 09:57 AM
Igor is never out of ideas. :D What I meant is that this chop isn't to my standards. I can't work on it any more since it got so boring where I came to a point where if I do anything else to it I'm just making it worse.
Anyway, you'll see. Maybe someone will even like it. :D

PSDavinci
06-15-2009, 12:14 PM
Thats all part of the idea here bro.
Mix it up a little bit, get you guys doing something different.
You see it as boring because your not used to working in this area.
Trying new stuff, expanding your knowledge base, these things help you become more versatile and thats a good thing for any artist.
Getting out of the comfort zone can work wonders for development and sometimes will even lead you to new levels of interest and creativity.

IgorDesign
06-15-2009, 01:11 PM
You're totaly wright, but choping to me is way to relax and if I'm bored with some chop or don't feel good about some chop it has reverse effect on me.

VanillaSoldier
06-15-2009, 08:49 PM
so whos all in on this one?

PSDavinci
06-15-2009, 09:11 PM
OK fellas, we still got a week or so left on this thing and im seeing entries already being sent. Please dont rush this one.
I was going to make this a surprise but since it seems some of you may be taking this one maybe too lightly I guess I better not wait.
I have a contact at a major Mopar publication and if the winner of this thing is worthy, your not only gonna win the comp but your pic is gonna end up on the Editors desk with serious potential of being featured in a bad a$$ car magazine representing PSC. Its not a paying gig but it will definitely be something cool to have in your portfolio.
So try to give your best effort, this opportunity doesnt happen all the time. :D

IgorDesign
06-24-2009, 02:38 PM
Open a new thread, put our entryes, in the bottom you have "Post a Poll" option, click "Yes, post a poll with this thread", underneath you have number of polls.
So you are opening the poll tomorow?

PSDavinci
06-24-2009, 03:06 PM
Igors explanation is correct.
I usually open an extra browser window so I can open my messages and easily toggle back and forth to the new thread set up for copying and pasting the supplied entry links. Also make sure to place the names above the pics and set up your poll in the same order.
