Hi all,

I'm new on here and didn't even know this forum existed till last night after someone telling me about it since digimods went down I needed to find another site and this one looks pretty good.

I started using Photoshop CS3 last year, just for forum signatures and then got into it more and more when I got asked to change wheels etc on cars and never looked back and always learning new stuff.

Anyway I have a mate, who is a Saab man through and through and has one of these:

Now recently he has a BIG liking for the Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst Edition S, like this:

He asked me to try and shop parts from the VXR8 onto his Saab, and this is what I come up with:

Apart from the different coloured calipers and I made abit of a mess with getting rid of the front bumper strip I'm pretty happy with it. I know the wheels look of poor quality and that's because they are! I tried getting some high res pics of the wheels, but couldn't find any of the pics from stationary angles!!

Thanks for looking
Jonnie

Any ideas of how to make the wheels look less flat?

As regards to the paintwork, do you mean how to get the colour to white from the original?

Theres a tut. on this site to convert car colors to white or black. Only works with some types of cars though (depends on the original color.

Yeah I did try using that one first, but wasn't really for me so i tried it another way.

Make the selection around the body of the car. Go to Image>Adjustments>Black & White. When you get the black and white box up, don't change any of the sliders, press ok. Then go to Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast. I then moved the sliders as I wanted. I got the best results by setting the Brightness slider all the way up and the Contrast all the way down.

Even then it wasn't perfect so I then went to Image>Adjustments>Levels and then adjusted the sliders to suit, but tbh it wasn't much.

Job done!

Loving the colour and stripes, the wheels however, big no, no! Good effort though!
