My buddy asked me to make a poster for him of one of my chops so i did this quick one for him. I wanted to choose a sick car for the poster so i chose this skyline. I love the way the car looks as is so i did little mods to it. Mostly just a cool layout. Just a couple little touchups to do but done enough to post here. Let me know what you guys think...

lose the headlight thing, and the rain.. otherwise, it's not bad. Maybe add a ripple effect to the water too, to not make it so it looks like holes in the ground.

Wow I really like it! I could go either way with the rain, but it would look better with some water droplets.

pretty much agree with suz, but i like what you have done, the highlights seem off for the setting also, with such a cloudy rainy day you would figure that they would be more toned down.
great idea with the puddles!

Thanks for the comments. This was my first attempt at puddles so i still need to get the kinks out since i had no idea where to start with that. I redone the rain and messed with the puddles some more so they look less of a perfect circle and took away the lens flare from the lights after seeing suz's post. Anyone know how to get a good effect of raindrops on the car? I tried but the smallest i can get the brush, it makes it look likes squares.

BT- i got the rims from dieselstation.com. I wont give you the direct link cause i want you to look at that site. They have lots of Amazing cars to use. I got the rims off of a porsche tho. I stopped at page 8, so its somewhere there towards the beginning.

Ill post a more updated version when i get off work later. Again thanks for the comments.

Nice work kev.
Yeah I was going to say you need to reshape the puddles.
On the raindrops, I would suggest you dont try to make them exact sized to fit the car.
Layout a pattern thats fairly large and work up the effect then apply it and resize it. Also you might need to do a few different ones with light source adjusted to where its placed on the car.
Also, the whole picture looks sort of dull. Do you have a color layer on top of everything by chance? If so I would suggest selecting and cutting the portion over the car, place it on a new layer and reduce the opacity, so the car isnt as washed out so much.

Haha you caught me davinci, i did have a black fill over everything. I wanted to go for a nighttime appearance so i did that. After reading your post, i brought down the opacity on it to make it look better.

As for the puddles, i didnt reshape them, i just softened the edges of them and lowered the opacity of them a little more. I also made new rain cause i wanted to keep that. i used a smaller brush and lowered the opacity of that and i think it looks better. I also added a reflection on the side of the car just for kicks. what do you all say, yay or nay on that reflection? As for the brightness of the highlights of the car, i put it through the shadow/highlight panel and did some tweaking to it. I have a version of that im gonna post.
