First of all, no discussion on downloading Photoshop.. Unless they offer a trial or something to start with. Of course we all have our own ways to get the program, some tend to use their local software dealer, some tend to get them somewhere else.

But on to the topic, you can use Photoshop or Gimp, or some other "advanced" program. Then just familiarize yourself with the tutorials found here and all over the internet, and create the masterpieces you've always wanted!

Have fun and hope to hear from you soon.

t0tal mentioned GIMP, which is a great software to use if you don't have resources for PS. I have seen people do better work with GIMP than most people are capable of in PS. Good luck with it all, post some stuff when you get something done.

There's all sorts of tutorials here. Duplicates of almost anything here, alot with different techniques for the same results. So if you find a tut that doesn't work for you, try another one. And I know for me, the biggest hinderance when learning is that I don't wanna do a krappy job. Don't be like me. Even if it ends up krappy, just do it. If you're learning, I say take it to the extremes.
And yeah, just DL gimp. I believe the website is gimp.org ? Photoshop costs upwards of around 300$ if I remember correctly. But gimp is free. And has the same capabilities as PS. (probly simpler to use than the newest PS, too)

Hope to see a first chop soon. :D goodluck.
