The Focus st170 is a sportier version of the stock

At its heart is a tuned version of the 130PS 2.0-litre Ford Focus Duratec engine, producing 170PS at 7000rpm and 195Nm of torque from 2500rpm. Transmitted through a Durashift six-speed manual gearbox, this is sufficient to allow the Ford Focus ST170 to achieve 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 133mph.

The 170PS 2.0-litre Duratec ST engine has been developed from the standard 130PS 2.0-litre Ford Focus engine with several new features, including:

· New, high-flow aluminium cylinder head with larger inlet valves and higher lift intake and exhaust camshafts for higher peak rpm levels

· Continuously variable intake valve timing

· High compression, cast-aluminium pistons and forged steel connecting rods

· Dual mass flywheel

· New dual state intake (DSI) manifold, using long runners for low-end torque and shorter runners for higher peak power outputs

· Larger bore free-flowing stainless steel exhaust system, tuned for enhanced performance sound.

complete in the package 17" alloys wiv low profile tyres also front ventilated disks for improved stopping power over the Standard Focus.

:) hope that helps

i dont know what ps is but 0-62 in 8.2 seconds is slow as hell, and a top speed of 133 isnt too great either

I find comments like that not very closed minded because if you think about it, who is going to use straight line acceleration, even on the track. What matters is how a car handles the turns. 8.2 seconds may be "slow as hell" on th straight line but that's not what determines a "fast" car.

Yeah it might just be a focus, 1 of 125 made for the aussie market(has a few different parts compared to other countrys) so makes a very rare car here in aus.
There's a few things that Gaz missed, leather/sports seats, huge brakes, electronic body stablizing control(lsd+4wheel independant abs), speed dependant variable power steer just to name a few.

And if you think 8.2's/133mph is slow for a stock N/A 2lt 4cyl 1300kg+ car(thats affordable to normal wage earner's)you dont know much about real cars.(must have watched fast'n'furious too many times... jk!)
Around a track/street(yeah i mean with corners)these little cars a quite capable of shaming much faster cars, mainly because of the handling capabilitys and the 6sp c/ratio box thats keeps it on the power very well.
I think the 8.2 figure is BS anyway more like 7.9-8's and if you need to do more than 133mph on the street you should'nt have a licence... who will you kill next, someone from your familiy or a mate?save it for the track...

|[ Sunkist ]| any car can be made fast if you throw enough dollars/time at it.

"loserasswipe" why be so ****** rude who do you think you are, your name say's it all... a fool.
