looks absolutly great man!! If you don't mind me asking what program do you use?

DarkPhantom29 12-08-2006 03:36 AM

Bryce 5, as stated above

Carty 12-08-2006 04:19 AM

haha how long did that take to render, im going to guess 15 hours

DarkPhantom29 12-08-2006 04:58 AM

Id have to say 20 hours to render it, the other 14 were mainly to get everything just right. Alot of the object are bolean, except for the chains the gate, and the draw bridge are made of simple objects like squares cylinders, and rings.

Carty 12-08-2006 05:18 AM

it would have to be bolean, great work, I know how much of a pain bryce can be, nice job

DarkPhantom29 12-08-2006 12:42 PM

Well i must say it takes some getting use to, but the results are amazing. I will be posting up another one i am in the works of doing right now which is a church, so i will get that up as soon as possible. I might even creat a whole town, but we will have to wait and see.

Good ol Bryce 5 .... I haven't used that in years ....your render looks good.

ferrariguy 12-08-2006 05:19 PM

thats beautiful. i wish i could do that kind of stuff.

Carty 12-09-2006 02:21 AM

download bryce, once you understand the program its easy... but understanding the program... not so fun

DarkPhantom29 12-09-2006 03:53 AM

If you want to understand Bryce, like any 3d program out there, you just have to try and study. The more you try the better you will get at it, and plus the better the outcome will be, just like photoshop.

20h of rendering, for such a small pic... i really really don't understand why it takes the computer so long to render it... anyone knows wy?

DarkPhantom29 12-15-2006 01:18 PM

What u talkin bout willis?

No seriously, what small pic, u talkin bout my castle, or about something u did, cuz like i am really confused.

Carty 12-16-2006 02:22 AM

it takes forever to render because its creating a picture out of nothing, and it has to go over the textures again and again, not to mention its a 3d environment, if this were a chop of a car, you could rotate the car and look at it from all angles

DarkPhantom29 12-16-2006 05:05 AM

well u can do the same thing with bryce, its just everytime u have to keep rendering it, over and over everytime u move the object. it becomes a pain in the rear, but heck i just recieved SolidWorks, so ill try my hands at that next, and see what i can come up with.

It's the rendering engine most likely. Bryce doesn't have a sophisticated rendering engine like you can get with some of the high end 3d packages. I'm sure mental ray, brazil, or vray could render the same image with a higher sample rate, global illumination settings, and such, in a matter of mins.

Good work. For all you experienced people out there. What's your favorite program and whats the difficulty of learning it? I mess with 3DS and I like it but it's hard. I'm starting to get it though.
