Checking in: My design work - School is over!
Hey guys - by now most of you probably have no idea who I am - but I used to be a very active photochopper around here. Haha, what a long time ago.
Anywho - this stuff got me interested in Graphic Design, and I eventually changed my major to GD. I'm now finished with my education and am looking at design firms for jobs. I thought I'd post my site up, for the younger kids to see one example of what can come out of these photoshop skills that seem to have no real career path by itself. This is my graduating portfolio which has had positive feedback so far http://design.rickyaustin.com If anyone has any questions, especially about schools or majors, or comments, or whatever just email me thru my site. I'm not here much, so I may not get your PM for months. I would like to say - if anyone goes the graphic design route in your future, look for 4+ year programs. 2 year programs do not offer enough knowledge to be a highly successful designer unless you are some freak of nature. Rock on fellas' |
nice work.. you may want a better 'splash' image - for lack of a better term. Looks well put-together & student-style portfolio. :)
Edit - also guys, you may want to look up the user Iacoski - he now makes a living designing aftermarket parts for cars. Glacius also is a designer now; many of our 'well-known' chop-artists are making a living doing what they love :) |
Great work. Being a design teacher its nice to see that there is still some talent left out there. Good luck in the future. With work like that, you shall go pretty damn far....and damn good presentation as well.
