Vista Premium?
Hey guys...I've had my computer since early February and i've had quite a few problems with Vista. Firstly im forever getting error messages and programs are no responding. Its getting to the point where i want to upgrade it but i feel i need a more reliable OS. Anyone else had this problem?
|
Also what's the difference between Sata and Sata2? Can i still use my sata drives with a sata or sata2 cable?? I know sata2 has a locking mechanism
|
is your vista 32 or 64? it could be compatibility problems
im unsure about sata and sata2 but im guessing it will be like USB and USB2.0 so just data speed i could be wrong and if you need a more reliable OS go back to XP for a while if you have the disk and wait untill windows 7 comes out or download the windows 7 beta version i never had any problems with windows vista and im running Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP1 hope some of that helped you |
Cheers dude thats helped, i asked on another forum about the Sata/Sata2 question they're both the same. :D Funky UV cables here i come :cheer2:

OK since were on the subject of Vista maybe you geeks or I mean guys can help me out.
I have the home edition on my computer and every so often, usually when im in the middle of something and havent saved in a few minutes, it will just automatically shut everything down to update. I have attempted to disable this f'n insane function but havent been successful. Any tips short of tracking down the software engineer responsible and castorating him ! |
Possibly by re installing home edition that might work as it could be a corrupt update file or something.
|
yea probs best trying to reinstall it :p
so have you turned off automatic updates or it wont let you? altho i cant say i have heard of that problem lol |
