The Evil Saloon

Isn't my car yet (tis my boyfriend's cheap car), but will be learning in it and will hopefully be mine once I've passed my test :D
It's a 1.8 '96 Vauxhall Vectra B (I know, not the most exciting car in the world)... Used to be purple, is now matte black! Will hopefully be lowered soon and sat on a set of 18"s.

Purple phase:

Have to say, never been a fan of Vectra's, but that looks awesome in matt black.

I say leave it on steelies :D

Yeah, we have thought about that, hence why they're all cleaned up and repainted. We'll see how it looks once it's lowered.

Get some deep dish steelies in matt black.

Will look eviiiil

Stay away from big gay wings.

And sort out that mesh in the grill. Looks like you've ram raided Halfords.

blackace 03-25-2009 06:54 PM

I have to agree with Mad::matt A wing is called a spoiler for a reason (it spoils the car lol) and the mesh looks like a bad photoshop lol

Hmm... Deep dishes sound good.
There is no way I'll let my boyfriend put a spoiler on it, it just doesn't need it. I won't even let him put one on his Astra Coupe. And that grille is a sport grille that he got from one of his mates, it's a bit streaky because it hasn't been cleaned after the car was prepped for paint lol

Rat Rod it girl.
Paint the rims red, slam it, throw on some kool pin striping, cut a hole in the bonnet for a velocity stack, ditch the cushions for some metal buckets, floor to ceiling shifter with an 8 ball knob... Oh and a shrunken head hangin from the mirror.
Now thats a hippy chick mobile Raven.
Send us a pic when its finished ! :D

RebelRaven 03-27-2009 06:55 AM

Rat rod is what we're going for... but it'll hopefully look a bit mean and gothic by the end of its transformation.
It is going to be lowered, but just going to have simple lowering springs... Don't want the ride to be as hard as the astra's. The exhaust has two sections that join into one, so that might be made into a twin exhaust system that will make it sound like Hell's just been opened
It's got its MOT on monday. If it fails for something stoopud I'll cry because we spend so much time correcting the brakes (handbrake didn't work in reverse, needed new rear brake shoes, then the brakes stopped working completely  )
Oh! and I'm gonna get a skull gearknob for it xD

blackace 03-27-2009 07:00 AM

A skull gear knob is awesome. Top Marks for you :D

RebelRaven 03-27-2009 01:27 PM

YAY! :D

RebelRaven 03-31-2009 07:35 AM

The Veccy failed it's MOT :( Front brake imbalance and the emissions were far too high lol.
However... there are a couple of new features to the car. A lovely black tax disc holder that has a tribal on the back of it and a skull and crossbones sticker on the boot :p

lol no, I don't want to. It took me ages to do all the filler work on it to take out all the little annoying dents, and to mould a new passenger side rear arch.
But on second thoughts... maybe I should after it failed its MOT retest :(

well in my opinion matte black car with skulls and smooth bodywork is fail
I'm not meaning it should be totally destroyed but some dent's here and there give it more character ;)

RebelRaven 04-05-2009 02:44 PM

Believe me it's still got quite a few imperfections, that's for sure lol
e.g. the whole of the paintwork is one big imperfection :p Runs, overspray and light patches everywhere... but hey, it still looks pretty damn mean when its out in the dark :D

blackace 04-05-2009 03:29 PM

Love the sticker lol :D

Murcie_LP640 04-10-2009 05:32 PM

Now I know why that looks familiar...

http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewto...?f=109&t=17258

Seen it on a different forum lol. How many project cars has that brought it up to now?

blackace 04-10-2009 06:53 PM

That back view on the other forum looks pretty darn sweet :D

Ah yes... That is my boyfriend posting that up lol
And I do like that rear view of it. It seems so much beefier in matte black and with the badge removed :D
