IVXX Customz Dodge Viper Redraw
This is my latest project after hearing from people that I need to redraw an entire car after I really lucked out with my Camaro having such easy lines and colors Now its time to step it up. Here is my Base Pic.
Viper GTS Original http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/664...paper0cap1.jpg Lineart http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/6310/viperlinesiu3.jpg I spent about a day or two just redrawing the lines so now its time to get down to it.. Look for updates! |
Here is about a day or 2 of progress... Ive been hitting this thing in between working and slacking.. ahaha Is it looking good?
Update 1 http://img445.imageshack.us/img445/8...update1vf1.jpg |

nice detail!
|
It was fairly slow at work today so I got some chances to make some progress on this one... The rear end is coming along nicely... IMO
Update 2 http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/308...update2fb8.jpg |
wow nice! cant wait to see the final one
|
Well actualy ... I dont like toons like this one ... They just look too realistic (not toony) ...
|
http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/3839/err9yp.gif Uh... that's a good thing.
|
Thankx Vipey Ill def. take that as a compliment seeing as I never said it was a toon because I decided I like "RE"drawing so thats why its called a redraw.

Realism isn't everything. And it takes a certain sort of eye to capture a different look out of a picture while making it look presentable, rather than full on realism. Realism is actually almost too easy. It's just time consuming. This isn't a "toon" it is technically a rebrushed picture, but that aside, the work is to a high standard thus far. |

O MY GOD!!!!! I think I saved over the PSD with the JPEG of my latest update... which means everything is flattened to whatever i already painted... I cant go back and fix or change any of it... I think Ill still be able to move forward and finish it but It looks like I did a major F*ck-UP!
|
is there anygood tutorials on this on the site

P.S. : Justincredible : U did this in PS ??? |
Yea i drew it in Illustrator and then I took the line drawing into illustrator and used my polygonal selection tool to select each seperate shape at a time and just try to "redraw" it in PS None of it is copied so far... I havent found anything thats too hard on it to rebrush... I thought the taillight was going to be a ***** but it seems I already got that part done... Im going more for a photorealism render than a toon... I like the way it looks without the black seperation lines.
|
Here is a few more days of work after I realized that I accidentally flattened my PSD and musta saved over it... Everything I did before that on the rear bumper, I cant change or modify.. If i have to, i can re-brush over it.. I think its looking good but I have alot more work to do... What are your opinions of the background (the waves)? Should I try to rebrush it or just C&P it?

that is an amazing job at photorealism. keep it up! i like the way the BG is looking. i think a simple BG keeps the focus on the car.
|
nice thats all therre is to say ;)

This is coming out nice. But what is the purpose of the initial line drawing? Couldn't you just make your paths around each component of the car and convert each to selection and save your selections to channels. Then you can just work within the confines of your selections. I'm sure you have a reason for your method, I'm just wondering. I really love this style btw. I think it takes a certain discipline to be able to do realism like this because you purposely limit your artistic license with the piece. You must become creative in your METHOD not the finished image. I like it.
