thanks moncef & brent. you guys know me too well. overall, looks decent. did you make the clouds on the middle pic? they look kinda funny. the lower left looks hot. the shadows are pretty good on that. but the lower right? augh! one word: gross. im sorry, but i HATE the distortion on the elise. hmm...i bet you guys wonder why i dont chop an elise...cuz imo the only thing i think it needs is a british racing green paint job with yellow racing stripes. which reminds me...i got to drive one today! greatest day of my life!

Barchetta 09-11-2006 11:50 AM

you drove an elise??

like i said, its not my best work, just some side stuff. feel free to alter the image.

oh yeah theres no clouds in there, its just a ghost image of one of these pics:

I dont really know why i put it in there i guess it looked trippy at the time.

first of all ask youself would have have that on your desktop??? i wouldnt! the yellow elises in the corner are skewed! which makes them look fuking stupid! and peronally it needs more details about the elise and less cars! like an elise logo or lotus logo or summink?/??

It's a good suggestion, but if you go back and read my last post, I did mention that you can alter the image in any way you like...

As a graphic designer, I will give you my honest opinion.

Your PS work is good but the layout, in my opinion, is not so good.

I would suggest making the large picture with the car the background.
The trees jutting out at the top destroys the symmetry and draws your eyes away from the main focal points.
Use the smaller inset picture with the blue and red car as it is if you like, but eliminate the yellow car inset.
Never distort the car, the background yes, it can be a nice effect if done right.

I hope you view my critique positively because I only give it as an effort to help.

thanks!

That is some very good advice PSDavinci, thanks.

I have actually stopped using PS for a while, with school and the heavy workload and all... I'm taking a drawing (pencil and paper) class on the side which should help me organize my chops and other work a little bit. The class gets into graphic design and photoshop and illustrator around January. So by the time I come back to Photoshopchop.com and start posting again in the summer, I'll have better things to contribute.

take care choppers, lates

Thats very good to hear you are enhancing your abilities with continued formal art training.
As you say, this will greatly benefit your skills in PS.
But please dont stop working.
Practice whenever possible and let us see your work.

One day in the not so distant future, im sure many of us will be asking your advice.
Best of luck
DaVinci
