69 Camaro Toon...

That is an INSANE toon! Nice work man
|
Looks more like u duplicated the layer, did the find edges filter, then lowered its opacity in certain areas. I know cuz ive tried it. I believe u mighta brushed it but i doubt its an actual toon.

"I doubt its an actual toon. " How so?
I take just about every part of the car and manipulate it until it all fits together the way I want it. - I took the roof/windows/ windshield and tweaked it. - I shortened the body it a little bit taller (so I didn't just lower it) - I took the front bumper/grill/headlights and tweaked and shortened so it could fit the body. - I made the hood vent a lot bigger. - and I exaggerated the front and back wheels. I also used the find edge filter along with a couple of other things that I do to make it look "brushed". Here's a couple of other examples.... http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...gerposter2.gif http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...ca-poster2.gif http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...elica2toon.gif http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1.../CaVY1toon.gif http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...celicatoon.gif If they aren't toons, what else would you call them? |
a true toon is not done with filters, but rather rebrushing an entire car. the stuff that you have done, while it looks cool, is merely filters, not tooning.

hmmmm filters. that not tooning.
also why are you saving them as .gif files??? its site for image quality. look at the litle dots all over the piccs. save it as an RGB JPG file n youll be fine. |
I was using the term "tooning" for lack of a better word.
Any ideas on what you'd call my style then? |
I would call it a toon myself bro but as Mike pointed out a true "toon" is recognized as being entirely brushed and outlined. Your work is basically considered a photo manipulation and some refer to them as car-icatures.
I really like your style and look forward to seeing some more! |
