Ultimate rescue operation - MK2 Golf
Ok guys so i thought i would take on a project which would push the boundaries of what i can do and hopefully help me to improve my skill set.
I started looking for a base which i felt that most would walk away from....and this is what i found: http://www.jd-motors.co.uk/photos/incidents/fire1.jpg A total wreck of a MK2 golf - completely burnt out and abandoned WIP already under way so watch this space as i post updates as the project evolves! That's gonna be a real challenge RB..looking forward to see the progress :)

You're right RK but i love a challenge!
The plans are to put a full 16v big bumper / arch kit on it and full rebrush in Oak Green. I'm still undecided on wheels, although i have got two or three solid options! RB |
Sounds like a good plan RB..
BBS wheels perhaps? |
Well BBS RMs are my first choice right now, but at the same time a more traditional option would be BBS RAs....Or my 'out there' option - Ronal Turbos!

Wrong section, but looks like a project of epic proportions there, RB!
Im definitely going to be following this post! :D |
Granted, this is the wrong section but the WIP section is virtually abandoned and in an effort to gain some activity on the site i consciously chose to post this here - Admin feel free to move if this is a problem.
MA - Thanks...This is definitely a tricky one but i'm hoping that it will help to improve my skill set! RB |

So here is the first WIP of the rescue mission Golf.
This is my second attempt at brushing a whole car and this WIP is only up to the stage of getting my shades right for a convincing 'Oak Green'. There are a lot of rough, mismatched edges and misaligned parts at this stage, but i am no way near finished with it! I have used a set of Ronal Turbos for my WIP wheels and to help me keep bearings on the perspective although there is no guarantee that these will remain. The dash inside is very angular as it will eventually form the base of a proper brushed unit. The 16v bodykit is fully custom brushed. C&C welcome as always RB http://i62.tinypic.com/20kosae.jpg |
Already looks very good RB

Got a good start going. ;-)

Sorry for lack of updates on this guys. I'm struggling to find a lot of time for this project at the moment!
As soon as i have anything more i will post it up. RB |
Just take your time RB..no need to rush ;)
|
Hmm. I may have to copy you and start with a trashed car to brush up on my brushwork.. Very nice lookin thus far.
|
thanks Suz,
This one has taken a bit of a backseat lately but I'm hoping to get it finished in a month or two! RB |
