Angry You US guys have got it easy...

Hmmm,

I have just calculated the fuel I use (super unleaded) works out at $8.54 USD (£4.63 gbp) a gallon here in the UK.

I bought my new car two years ago. It used to cost me £40 ($73.52 USD) to fill her up..
I went yesterday to fill up and it cost me £49 ($90.04 USD).

It sucks, but get over it America, it is about time you came inline with the rest of us.

This could be a good thing the rest of the world though. It means you will have to get rid of your 5litre gas guzzlers which are doing quite a bit of damage to our beautiful planet

yea europeans got it reeeaaaaaaaaaallll bad. but we can complain, the US has rediculous amounts of oil refineries and whatnot, so theres no reason we should be getting slamed w/ high prices. its not like were importing or anything

Yeah, in Europe, they tax the hell out of their gas.
Actually, the reason we're expensive as hell this last week is because all of our gulf coast refineries are out of comissoin due to Katrina. They should be at full capacity in about 3 months. (This is a compilation of what I've heard). About 10-20% of our oil is refined in the gulf coast. So, what good is oil when we can't convert it to gas.

Ah well, we really can't blame anyone for our high prices ATM.

i think its somewhere around $1.24 a litre here in BC, Canada. Its nuts. When i first moved down here the prices were cut to about $0.31 per litre, $0.31x4=$1.24!!! is quadrupelled (spelling)in price?? rediculous.

$.31/litre=$1.3/gallon, I think. That would be like, $.85USD/Gallon. No way.

Here in Perth Australia.the average a week ago was like$1.10 a litre this week its a $1.38 a litre.They say we'll hit $1.50 by xmas.But at that rate there we'll hit a $1.50 in a week.

THough nothing will change.when the Gulf of mexico is all clear and Iraqs oil companies are back working it wont change.because OPEC knows how stupid the human race is.and they'll just keep the oil prices as high as possible.I got a V6 The second I can put her on LPG she'll be on it.

Anyways good news too take a oil tanker to Kuwait and fill her up there..like 9cents a litre or gallon there.

i don't know about anywhere else, but here in GA, USA the gas prices are going to fall back to their regular prices by September 14th. The gas shortage here was a rumor that a small newspaper started and everyone went crazy and made all the gas stations run out of gas. Supply and Demand simply raised the cost, it will fall soon.
