2 Questions: Backround Changing .gif and Exact Color Changing

Hi I have 2 questions so I figured that I would just put them in 1 thread.

1. How can you change the color of a car to match the exact paint scheme of another car? I gave up after awhile of just playing around and then I just used like 2 layers of Color Balance.

I was trying to photochop the Subaru WRX from black into the purple-ish color on this Evo.






2. Also, how can you create an image like the one below to where the backround changes with the color of the webpage? Right now the backround is white but when you look at it somewhere else online the backround (area around bottle) is black or green etc...

Who can I do this in photoshop?

The bottom answer i believe is go round the object in mind and cut out the Background and c&p it onto a new document where the background is transparent and save it as a .Gif file Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong...

For the first one: Black cars are generally hard to colour. I think you've done a pretty good job to get it to that colour. If you wanted to change a yellow (just a random example) car to another colour there are a number of ways to do it. 1. Desaturate and then go to colour balance. 2. Hue/Saturation and play around with the Hue or 3. Simply brush a colour over the paint and turn down the opacity or play around with the layer blending options (this could work for the black car)

For the second one: boroboyben is right, but png's are better for that kind of thing. Just make sure that if you do it in photoshop that when you save it "interlacing" is on.

a quicker way or another way to do the grayscale without having to open a new file is just to make a new layer and go to Image > Adjust > Hue/Saturation and then put saturdation all the way to the left side.
