Practice makes perfect. Though I admit it might be overwhelming to look at the work done by members here then think of how you could give it a try. I'm not so great myself, I have not entered a contest since contest #2. hehe but I'll be going through the tutorials and asking others for help. Welcome to photoshopchop.com

I can vouch for these two, it's 100% unadulterated practice.
The tutorials get you off the ground, then you find your style, things that suit your taste, you know I've been photoshopping for almost a year now and I can't remember the last time I looked a tutorial. Most of it is basic c/p stuff, and eventually you'll start experimenting with things like brushing and lighting and reflections. It just takes time.

Wow five years! I am trying to come up with a great magazine cover. That's why I startedto chop again. I did it years back but wasn't good at it. When I saw the work on here i gave me the inspiration to have a chopped car on my magazine cover. Since i dont have my own camera for photography.

The pen tool is mainly used for selections. It allows you to make smooth selections w/o the jaggedness of the poly lasso. It helps so much when you start brushing, especially when the lasso can be frustrating.
