its really hard to make a tutorial for background changes since it varies from car to car and background to background. If you can post an example of what you need help with it may be easier for us to assist you

u have to find a pic as big or bigger than that with a car in the same position... then it's cut, paste, cover old car, add shadows/highlights, cha-ching

I just finished a job for a client who needed new backdrops for his cars... Did 9 in all, was paid well

I will post them up so u can see what's going on...The real pics run around 1400-1800 pixels wide, depending on the background...i resized for easier loading.

Original............then artwork...
...

...

...

...

Hope it will help a little to look at these, PM me if u need help, maybe I can help sometime or give some tips

Yeh mike, as everyone else allready said, you need to get a good sized picture of a background, it can be from another car at roughly the same angle or you can get wildlife scenery etc. With most cars you barely even have to do shadows since when your cutting the car out from the first background you also cut out the shadow, the only problem is, is that you'll be left with a little outliney type of thing unless you do a good job of cutting it out. TO get rid of that you just use a soft edged eraser.

This is basically all it takes, if you need more help feel free to add me to aim

well personally if i want to add reflections to the car i just grab a good part of the background that i think would look abotu right, i then flip it or watever so it looks better, and then i just lower the opacity, thta usually looks allright.

yea, GS has the idea... i usually use 'soft light' just so hard edges on the car pop out more like they really would... it works for most subtle reflections... couldn't do that with the accord above though... not enough light
