even if im not too active around here, i have few suggestions
loosen up the imagesizings, and file naming, i really cant see the point on it
maybe like lower res (800x600 for ex) and then free sized higher res
now the images are pretty small and hard to see details
also, keep competitions running more often, either by leaving the "free time" between competitions shorter, or to start more competitions
and lastly, add higher res original images to chop on

i agree about shortened free time between contests,or starting new comp, but about the contest rules, i think its better if we leave it this way.
an 800X600 chop wouldn't show much detail, and free big sizes for some member will make them have to scroll left and right to see it,and the rules are also like a limitation inside free creation,if u know what i mean. the challange of a contest IMO

Hi there,
The image size and quality, filename requirements etc are so that I can manage to get you guys in magazines like PASMAG.
The next contest is soon, I promise!
I'd also like to consider offering a prize of some sort starting in contests this year. I can't manage much but what we all think about that? $50 for first? or $25 1st, $25 2nd place. Would that gain some interest or is that peanuts? (of course we still chop for the love of chopping but what else could we do to spice it up some?)

Dude I think $50 is a lot!
It would be great!
But I feel kinda bad that it's coming out of your pocket.

people shouldnt have to be paid to do chops, i mean **** it would be nice to win that contest and get some money, but people should be doing it cause they like to do it.

I really agree. I do feel bad that this money is coming out of your pocket! But, im dirt poor, and probably not on the same level as the others participating in your contests. Id like to have some initiative, and that sounds good. I think maybe spread it out from 1st to 4th. That way people may think, hey, I dont have to be the best to win some money, "I might not be as good as that guy, but im still good at this.l" To me its not about the cash at all, I couldnt give a care in the world about the cash or whatever prize might be established. One thing that might help, is to give us cars to "Practice" on, that willl be displayed on the site, but not in PASMAG. That way it can give some "Noobies" like me some good.........Self Accomplishment, before a contest.

I'll definetly give it some thought... I'm poor too but would be interested in anything that would generate more interest in the contests. Anything extra above server costs I'd like to put back into the site.
Still working on a new ranks/awards/etc system to make chopping and participation more fun.

i think that the awards you recieve should be permanent, and also should look different from year to year.
that way, people feel more personally involved.....
