Default Chrome

Hey guys, Im looking to find a tut or information on PS related chroming.

Alot of the places I try to PS for ask me to take chrome material on a picture and colorize it. Then once you look at the propertys of the chrome in a colored faction its like I dunno fake looking.

I know theres got to be a way to get that chrome part looking dull or at least like its not a red chrome.

I don't want pictures of ppls stuff coming out so un realistic.

IMO chrome should be all reflections.

ok well i have never done it personally but this is how my first attempt would be

1/ duplicate the chrome part on a new layer ( to use later )
2/ on a layer below that make a selection of the chrome part and brush it in with the paint brush. brushing some highlights and shadows may help too.
3/ take the duplicate layer created in step 1 and use it for reflections by changing it to soft light or overlay and adjusting opacity.

as i said above im not sure how well this will work but give it a try and let us know
