admins seriously concider adding a forum dedicated to 3d automotive art. we've already added a freehand and sketch portion. i think this is what we need in order to expand this sites popularity. plus i think we can all agree that this site is more of a car site than a photoshop site. so we might as well expand to accomidate all aspects of automotive art

That sounds like a good idea to me, I love looking at 3d renders and junk..I only wish I could learn it . I agree it'd bring alot more people to the site if we could get the word out about it to the 3Ders out there...

Then again, it might turn into another Magna section if we can't get people interested and post their stuff....that stuff takes a long time to do, know what I mean?

See what MRWILDE says...

it would bew cool but you gotta know that working a 3d model is not something like a photochop. It takes a long time to get something looking right or making it look good. Most photochops can take about 3 hours at the most, wheras a render could be a couple months depending on the detail.

Good idea Sha$, being a bit of a 3d user myself i think it would be a good addition to growth of the site.

Is this topic worth pinning?

maybe combining the manga and 3d rendering into a forum... because 3d is awesome, but it will go slow..especially at first.. and the manga is DEAD.

could be like an altrnativemethod (need another word, 8am I don't have them&#33 forum, lol... see what mr wilde thinks... I'll be admin for some stuff, but this is his board, so I am not going to change the layouts or anything

ok im seriously reconsidering this idea as there seems to be a lot more 3D art being posted here since this tread has been created so I think it might be a good way to decongest the Off the Wall Chops section.

Adding a 3D forum would be great. This stuff seems to keep getting more and more popular here. I agree that it would help decongest the other forums too.

OK, how about this....

Take PEOPLE CHOPS, SCENIC CHOPS and STRUCTURAL, ANIMAL CHOPS and OFF THE WALL CHOPS...combine all these into one...maybe OTHER CHOPS.

Create a 3D RENDERING section.

Get rid of POLL DISCUSSION and GENERAL COMPUTING, POLL DISCUSSION is pointless IMO, and GENERAL COMPUTING is dead and always has been.

Any opinions on AUTOMOTIVE NEWS? Cause I'm undecided on that one.

Leave the rest how it is, we do still have some Magna chops coming through every now and then.

Sounds good to me. Maybe leave Automotive news alone. I have picked up a few things from there about concepts and stuff.

i say leave it... look through it, it has a high sucess rate of people solving their probs so IMO it should stay

Btw i like the idea of a 3d rendering section i'm currently looking into getting started doing 3d rims and stuff (Inspired by Nastone)

sounds great. maybe we could just combine both the computer forums into one "general Computing" forums (both tech help and tha other one).

I also think the people, scenic, and structural, etc chaops should be combined too.
