3dsmax Texures

Ok well I would like to know how to add textures to 3dsmax and where I could get some nice free achitecture ones or jsut any nice textures in general. thanx

oh and I know of 3d Textures which looks like they got some nice stuff and Im getting the landscape one probably

yeah theres free textures all over the place and adding them is easy first click a ball so you can choose a texture then on the side of the texture picker thingy there is an open button just lead it to your textures and itll pull all the stuff it needs from that

yeah um I dont see how I do this. Do the texture files have to be a certain file type? like .mat or whatever its called? and Im not sure if ive found the texture opener thingy

yeah if if you dont have that and you have just a picture file then just click on a ball then scroll down and youll see maps click on that to see all the map choices well you choose one of the slots and then itll open a window click new then click bitmap and lead it to the pic and then itll wrap the ball in the pic for what ever mode you chose ie color or bump

ok only problem is that it doesnt let me open up pics only .mat, .chr, and .drf :blink:

yeah it wont whn you go to do the thing wit the maps you just select a bal not double click just get the white square arround it i would show you a screen shot but unfortunantly my graphics card wont allow me to open it up
