I knew you were doing a CF car... the roof looks really fake, with the way it bends off the windshield, you would most likely only see the pattern right at the bend and then the rest of the roof would be really hard to see it

nice work so far

looks good so far, reflections need a little bit of colour hear and there to add realism

yepp i agree with the colour on the reflections comment.

that was the next step! but yeh just some simple stuff

lowered, chopped a big section from the middle of the car to make it look sleeker.

It wont look realistic until you put colour reflections on , so dont forget too lol, thats really one of the only things making the cf look fake-ish

i think i know what is wrong... if u look at teh mustang pic u posted u should notice that u only really see the cf pattern where the highlights or edges are so if u fade out (layermask) most of the pattern in the right areas + color reflections it should be cool

yepp im gonna agree with you too. cf does fade and almost dissapear the further away it gets.

i knew this would cause controversy because every1 has a slightly different vision of cf.

he's right, Int the mustang pic, where its really bright, the CF becomes really obvious, whilst its the opposite on you're pic

thats pretty much what i was thinking of, but you have to realize im not english, so yea...
you may consider twirling/curving or whatever the pattern a bit tho.

It's really a daunting thing to take on a CF car.
I've tried myself, and let me tell you...you won't
achieve realistic carbon with a homeade pattern
and desaturation/level/etc...

Desaturation for one takes all the color away.
No color reflections makes for a fake car. Many
chops with a black color change are ruined by this
very mistake.

Secondly the CF pattern really has to bend and
contort accurately with the car. The further away
the pattern is from the camera, the "muddier" the
pattern should look. And imo, your pattern overall
should be smaller.
