One way is to take the smudge tool(the way i like to do it) and bring in the colours from the surrounding, make it look like it was never there

The smudge technique might not look so great on an image with sharp reflections. It'll blur them and make it stand out. I usually use the poly-lasso tool and select the handle. Then use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the selection over just far enough so none of the handle is selected. Tap up or down if need be to align the reflection. Copy and paste it over the handle. Merge layers and clean up the edges if needed.

use the "heal" tool... looks like a band-aid.
works just like the clone tool, but it draws the surrounding colours on to the cloned area.
note: might need to use the lasso, to make sure it doesn't draw in unwanted surrounding colours.

another way 2 do it is 2 airbrush over the handle
it takes a bit of time to get used 2 but once you get the hang of it its really easy
you can also airbrush over other things that you want smoothed by doing the same thing

LOL, Mr Flannery your looking at the tutorial section of the site, these tutorials have been here forever, especially the older(easier) ones like shaving and tinting. Check the post date on the first post in this thread and you'll understand what I mean.....BTW, isn't the 'patch tool' only in the newest version of PS? I don't have it in my 7.0(I think that's what version I have), at least I don't think I have it...

My apologies for those with older versions, not sure which version it debuted in.
My point though, was that if these cats are using CS2, and recommending these methods...wow. One of my biggest p'shop pet peeves is when rooks write tutorials.
