Learn how to create a great looking carbon fibre for you car photomanipulations.

I hope you will like it!

Carbon Fibre Tutorial

For this tutorial you will use an image taken from
importspeed-south

Click [Here] to for the picture
Take the polygonal lasso tool and make a selection around the hood.



After you have selected to hood right click on the Background layer and click on Layer via Copy.
New layer have appeared rename it to Hood.



Hold Ctrl click on the Hood layer to select it.
Now again hold Ctrl and press U on your keyboard a Hue/Saturation
window should appear. Use these Settings:



Now the hood should look like this.



Lets create a new image with these settings.



After you have done so zoom in to 1600% and take the
rectangular marquee tool , make sure that you have these style settings on.



Now click anywhere in the image and the rectangular marquee will appear.
Click on it and drag it to the top left corner like shown bellow.



Fill the layer with Black colour and then go to:

Layer – Layer Style – Gradient Overlay
and use these settings and click OK.



Right click on the Layer 1 and click on Duplicate layer, then just click OK.

Now move the image of the layer that you have just duplicated to the
bottom right corner, like shown below.



Now Go to:

Layer – Layer Style – Gradient Overlay
Change the Angle of the Gradient from 0 to 180 and click OK.

Your final Fibre pattern should look like this.



Click on:

Edit – Define Pattern

Name the patter what ever you like and lick OK.
Now close the Fibre Pattern image and return back to the car.

Create a new layer and call it fibre pattern.

Now go to:

Edit – Fill
Use the pattern that you have just created and use these settings then click OK.



Now go to:

Edit – Free Transformation
and resize the fibre pattern to about this size.



Now you will make the pattern look more realistic, to do so go to:

Filter – Distort – Wave
and use these settings.



While you fibre pattern layer is still selected hold Ctrl and click
on the Hood layer. Your image and layers should look like this.



Now while the hood is still selected over the fibre pattern image go to:

Select – Inverse
and press the Delete key on your keyboard to delete the patter outside of the hood.
Press Ctrl + D on your keyboard to deselect everything now your hood should look like this.



One last thing to do!

Hold Ctrl and click on the Hood layer to select it.

Now click on the Create new fill or adjustment layer, which is located
at the bottom of the layers panel. See the image for more help.



Then click on the Levels option, use these settings and click OK.



All done!

Here is the final result.

i dont mean to be an @ss but that looks absolutly nothing like carbon fibre
