Harry, thanks for the tip, but I don't think I'm going to do much more of anything in the looks department. I do have a set of fender flares waiting to go on (think mkii), but priority number one is to get the turbo stuff done.

unfortunately, i didnt get a chance to get the piping and stuff that i needed to put in the catch can before i deployed. thatll be #1 on my list when i get back from my deployment.

well, catastrophe happened. i learned my lesson about building a turbo setup without building the motor to handle the boost.
i was driving, lost power, and burned a ton of oil. so, first, i pulled a spark plug and found this:

then, i pulled the head, and found this:
and then, i check for any piston/cylinder damage, and find this. notice anything missing?:

well, at this point, im working on sourcing a new motor. this time around, I'll be going with forged goodies, to avoid mishaps like this again.
today, i pulled the oil pan, and i found the missing piston!
my girlfriend helping pull the chunks out of the pan
im keeping this piece as a souvenir.
