I only chrome black parts, it's pretty easy too. Just make another layer, slap on a layer mask, and set the blending to "linear dodge". After that just go to your layer mask and draw over the black areas you want chromed out...

that's what the end result will look like.

1-Desaturate the part
2-mess with the curves and levels till u get it as u want
3-use the blur tool to smodge it, then it wont look shitty

results:

Ps.; I didnt smodge this one tho

Uh, theres a much easier way.

1. Make an alpha image from the picture of any given car.
2. Save that image as a .psd
3. Get a scenic image. One with alot of contrast between ground and sky is good.
4. Guassian blur scenic image without about at about 2%
5. Filter > Distort > Displace
6. Put in about 70-80 for the X and Y, you will have to place with these a little to get it right.
7. Select your alpha image when it prompts you.
8. Now set your displaced scenic image to soft light and place it over original photo.

There ya go, your car now reflects. The only thing left to do is adjust the color of the car to a greyish tone and possibly turn up the contrast.
