you got GIMP ... rebrushing is another long process... first get to know the basics... but Il make you a basic brushing tut for gimp... ok now you you select your base , the original , with the pen tool.. only the parts you gonna colour meaning deselect windscreen head light and indicators and grill vents and whatever else... hoping you know how to... now right click... colour... desaturate... select average and click ok... now select the part you gonna c+p and do the same ...right click... colour... desaturate... select average .... and you'll see most of the times the greys dont match... select the layer with the c+p part on... I hope you saving everything in layers...ok select the layer with the c+p part on... now right click... colour... brightness and contrast... now use your good eye and try to match the greys with the brightness and contrast.. by playing with the sliders... if you matched them... go to you previous paths and look forr the one you use to desat the base with and select from path and c+p layer and fill with colour and duplicate the layer and player around with layer properties... hope this helps...

I'm trying that now.
Just a few q's
1.where is the pen tool?
2.How do i deselect thing's?
3.What is meant by 'c+p'?
4.What do the last 4 lines mean?
new to all of this photoshop stuff, so i don't know where the things are.

1:
2:
When you get to this step hold shift key and select the parts you want deselected...
like this... for example...
3:
Copy and Paste
4: Thats the method I use to color my cars when I desat them...

watch tuts on youtube, helped me a ton, plus just basic trail and error.
go to youtube and type pen tool tutorial cs2, or something similar, and a few should pop up.
once you get it down its a cakewalk!

I second that, and another thing try not to tackle huge a$$ projects with the pentool. Start small and keep the projects easy.. understand how the Pentool works. it's an amazing tool when used correctly.
