Quick question
Yes, I know, this should be in the computer questions section, and I have posted it there, but the fact is that not many people visit that section, and I need to work this out ASAP.
Ok, here's the dealio. I need something, whether it be an option in flash or some html code to add, or anything at all, that will cut the top and bottom off a flash website (with no border) rather than doing what it usually does when the flash thing is too big and adding a scroll bar.
If anybody has any ideas it would be fantastic, it's only going to be 10 pixels or something off the top and bottom.
Cheers

Well, im not exactly sure what your doing but it sounds like your intent is crop out a portion(s) of a Flash video, instead of just editing the developer file in Flash.
This can be done by embedding the .swf in an HTML page using an editer program (like Frontpage) and simply adjusting the boarders so the areas you want to omit are not included on the page, OR smiply create colored rectangles to match the BG if possible and cover the unwanted areas. Save the whole thing as an HTML doc and you have it.
Of course if you do have the developer file it would be best to make the modifications in Flash.

No idea whether this is possible or not but i'll ask before writing the idea off...
I've got the top and bottom cut off the way I wanted it by putting the flash object in a table and setting <table style="position:relative; top:-25px;"> . It's the only way I know how to do it. So that fits in fine when using 1024x768, but obviously, with a higher resolution it looks kind've odd because it's up the top of the page, not in the center.
I'm wondering if there's a way to fix this. Is there a way perhaps, to align it relative to the actual image and not the top of the page, so it'll be 25 pixels above the center of the page. That wouldn't be centered when viewed on a higher resolution obviously but it wouldn't look as odd as being all the way against the top of the browser.

Div align centers it horizontally but vertically it won't cut off the top, which is what I want, it puts the top of the flash video at the top of the page.
I'm using frontpage.

I ended up just putting the flash video in a table and sitting it as close to the top of the page as I could. It doesn't look perfect but it's good enough, nobody has complained about it yet so it's obviously not too bad haha. I'll probably fiddle around with it trying to get it sit perfect when I have some more spare time.
