Default Crazy tires, must see!

A friend of mine sent me an e-mail that he recieved from another friend displaying these new "air-less" tires that will suposedly be up for production soon. Not sure if it wil happen or go anywhere, but take a look. Here is the exact e-mail just copy and pasted:

These tires are made in South Carolina , USA.

SEE THROUGH TIRES a radical new tire design by Michelin.
The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

Yes, those are 'spoke-like' connection fins to the inner part of the tire from the outside tread 'wrap!' The next picture shows how odd it looks in motion...

Makes you wonder how the ride feels doesn't it? Well, it is fantastic in the extreme!

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

The bad news for Police and other law enforcement is that stinger spikes will not work on these.

Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. No more air valves...
B. No more air compressors at Petrol stations ...
C. No more repair kits...
D. No more flat tires...
E. Less expensive and more money in the drivers pocket.

These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin.

These are old, well old 2006-2007! When i was on a car forum a large amount of the member said they'd never use them if they come onto the market.

Yeah I saw this a while ago. They look horrible tbh. Good idea but I'm not sure whether it would be that popular - unless they changed the design!

Exactly! I'm sure when technology advances a little they'll be able to make a solid lightweight rubber tyre which doesn't look like a plastic toy which has been hacked apart!

They probably aren't 'see-through' tyres... more likely just demo wheels to show the inner workings of the tyre and 'spokes'.
I think it's a good idea though... but what happens if something goes wrong with them, like a spoke breaks or something?...

I looked into these wheels. They are called TWEELS. I think it is an awesome idea but bad at the same time. Not having to worry bout a flat would be great but just think about winter! That rubber doesnt look very thick so the tread probably wont be good for winter and maybe rain. Also what about living up north and having to deal with constant fluctuations in temperature? The center i believe is alloy and the outter in plastic. I bet over a ouple years that plastic would have a great deal of stress where it would start to crack. So if it cracks you would have to replace the whole wheel compared to just the tire. I would rather have to worry bout replacing a tire compared to raplacing the tire and the wheel. Double your money right there. All in all a really cool idea but a very bad one at the same time.
