I'm currently tinkering with a few things, but...
The looming problem with the "veterans" is that loss of
interest in chopping cars has taken its toll. The ghastly
trends, the lack of forward thinking, and the lack of
interest in wanting to complete a concerted effort are
all reasons for the downturn in activity, not to mention
the busy schedules, social lives...etc..
At any rate Ace...

...no joke, sorry ace but im about 45 hours from graduating with a Chemical Enginering degree... Ill make a ton of money, but homework and studying take up most of the day time, and I spend most nights out with friends....
chopping is a hobby, not a way of life ;-)
I just dont have the time

I wouldn't say I'm much of a veteran but I am "slowly" working on something
But as Tony and Carty said, I also don't have much time lately and have been interested in other things

I'm with Tony.
The thing with a trend or hobby is that when there are original choppers and then there are bandwagoning fanboys. Fanboys will chop and chop, unoriginal, uninspired and poorly thought out work. This distorts the scene washes out whatever exclusivity, originality, and creativity that the hard-working photoshoppers.
People who had been there with original ideas, mentoring other up and coming talents, I can understand they're getting bored. And of course, life gets in the way of doing this PS thing, as Carty said.

Me love you long time

Where to start...
I'm busy as anything, never have time, my PS is gone, other hobbies took the front seat, got bored with chopping, couldn't finish a chop in the last few years of being 'active' on PSC to save my life(don't think I still don't look around often), I'm busy, busy and more busy, my spare time is now spent sleeping.....and oh ya, I'm busy...
Seriously, I wish I could still play with chops every now and then, but then again, I think I'd have less time to myself if I did. I still enjoy the scene, just don't participate as much as I used to..

graffiti is more interesting to me... i had been chopping just a year but well i would kinda cal me a veteran haha... ppl like ace will probably and hopefully remember me again.... well maybe ill have a comeback if ill get into it again well see...til then

I guess I am not a PSC veteran having only been here about 2 years but feel that within the current crop of active members I may now be considered somewhat of a senior. I too have felt the need to break away from this for a while and took a brief hiatus for a few months. It really consumes a lot of time especially the more advanced you get. As most have pointed out, the attrition rate here is either linked to burnout, lack of interest or leaving to take up residence on one of the other Chop site forums. Whatever the case may be, it basically boils down to the cycle of life. Everything changes eventually. Its cool however to hear from old friends, regardless if they are still chopping or not. So by all means guys, if your still checking in, drop a post once in a while.
Which gives me an idea i'll throw out as a possible consideration for the update to the site we keep hearing about, if/when it happens. How about a section devoted to old chops? I know from time to time i'll dig back into an old thread or do a search on a particular older member in an attempt to revisit some of their work, only to find that the pics are no longer available. This is sad because we have had some fabulous chop artists come and go and so maybe having the means of archiving this work or making the section available for the guys to come back on and repost some of their work would be cool, especially since many of the newer members are unaware of these people and the caliber of work they did back in the day.
What do ya'll think?
