Yet Another Carbon Fiber Tut

No offense I think that mine looks the best I feel conceeded if thats the right word. The one reason I'm making yet another Carbon Fiber Tut is because I'm not liking pics with carbon fiber hoods that look like the Fiber is a foot big, my version makes it look more real

Ok so now first find a pic that you wish to carbon fiber...
I chose this:

Now the first thing to do is to shave the hood emblem & select the hood.

Now Desaturate the hood:

Now use the airbrush (having your color on black and on the opacy setting) brush over the whole hood once:

Now create a new image and make it way bigger than the original, and put the desaturated hood in it:

Create a new layer:

Fill it with this pattern:


Now goto Filter>Distort>Twirl:

Set the twirl to 50 degrees:

After you twirl the pattern, free transform it around the hood:

Holding Ctrl click on the pattern hood layer, when it looks like a hood outline on the CF pattern hold Ctrl and press C:

Goto the original image and press Ctrl and V, and center the new image ontop of the original hood:

On the Layers menu click the dropdown menu and click Overlay:


Now goto Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast:

Set it till it looks right and:

doesnt look real in the pattern at end but like the color and look of it is good, and i see that ur using that Cf pattern i posted up

Im using the pattern that comes with CS

yea the end result doesnt really look too much like carbon it has too much twirl

too many steps and beside it doesnt have circles in the middle of it if youve aver seen carbon fibre it only bends where it literallys bends if you undertsand

well what parts of this tut arent in 5.0 and i&#39;ll try to explain or use chopsta&#39;s tutorial which is much simpler and easier

Carbon Fibre is straight...unless the part it is is bent...then it bends round....I&#39;ll sort out a better tut later and see what ya&#39;s think
