Gmax Renderer

does any know of any good (and free) raytacing renderer for gmax? i dl'd YafRay but i cant get it to open, im not sure if theres a code or somethin that needs to be input into MaxScript, but i cant get it to work right. :angry: any help is appreciated

I think backburner is a raytracing renderer. not sure though.

and it probably doesn't work with Gmax.

well... i had one once before i got 3ds i got it to work but it took like 2 hours to figure the damned thing out ....so if i were u i would try to aqquire 3ds

he has 3ds, he's talking about a rendering engine.

like instead of the scanline renderer.

ohhh im sorry..........well dosnt mental ray come with 3ds?

no this is gmax, its the free version of 3ds it doesnt come with any renderer at all, plus it missing a lot of other features 3ds has. sort like maya personal learning edition. but there were people who figured out how to assign a renderer to it (like yafRay) but im too stupid to know how to work it
