Photos and Some Minor Chops

First Photo is the base. All the photos were taken by me. This was all for a school project. I was at school till 930 last night working on this.
It was cars so I thought I would share.

Not a bad look, but you need practice with the f-stop and focus point of the photos.

I can defend my work!

The reason the focus is off is because these were all model cars. I had to be really close to get the shot I needed. The sun was going down and I was running out of light so I had no option but to have my f-stop really low to get the exposure I needed. If you look part of every car is in focus, whether it is the closest part, or the middle.
As for the pinstriping style...it's pretty much the only vehicle graphic that I like. Most of the other stuff that people do just doesn't look right to me. The reason that I included the graphics was because it was half of the project. We had to do an illustration and place it on an object. That may seem really simple to photochoppers, but to people who spend most of their time doing page layouts and logo designs it is a bit of a chore.

I know, I can tell they're models. It seemed like the focus was in the middle of every shot, regardless of where the car was in the shot, like you didn't move the camera, you moved the car? i am probably wrong on that tho. I can't speak for your technique. Maybe back the camera off a bit & zoom in? It's what I used to do when the f-stop would act stupid.

I appreciate the comments and critisism. With the lense I was using I was basically zoomed in all the way for most of the cars, its just that they weren't very big.

gotcha. one of the lenses broke on my dSLR, so i've been forced to use the long-range lense.. really not fun when you're in close-quarters (like car photography in like.. a garage.. lol)

That seems impossible. Taking photos in garages doesn't sound fun though. Bad lighting, loads of walls in the way and such

yeah pretty much; like when I was taking a pic of the Passat almost a year ago..

i was about 40-feet away on this, with no tripod (tripod didn't agree with the nose-heavy SLR). I have another variation of this photo that you can see in my sig.

That's a great shot with the light. What type of lens are you using?

Before the camera stopped working (my fault - power was somehow left on with a dead-battery inside for a few weeks & the switch no longer works)

The camera is an Olympus e300 Evolt (8mp)
The lense was: Olympus Zuiko Digital Telephoto zoom lens - 40 mm - 150 mm - F/3.5-4.5
-- Looks similar to [link] but mine is much cleaner.

Very nice. I want to get some more stuff for my camera, but it cost a ridiculous amount.
