Can someone post a tut on basic color changes, i just started and have been doing them with the transparent spraypaint. Sooo..... help? :blink:

first you will need to have a good high res. pic to work with. use the one below.



next you will need to use the polygonal lasso tool to select the outerlining of the car. now there are 2 ways to do this. You can hold alt and select the lights windsheild windows, grille etc. and then do the color change or you can wait after you finish the color change to just select those things and use the eraser tool to bring back the real color of the windows etc.

i just went ahead and selected everything so i wouldnt have to go back and erase things.



now you need to desaturate the layer



ok, now it is time to put some color onto the truck. go to image>adjustments>hue/saturation and check the colorize box.



if you want your car to be the same color as mine set the "Hue" to 216 and the "saturation" to 50.

Thanks for the tut. It really helped. One question though. Would you recomend changin the rims, lowerig the car, and tinting the windows before changing the colour?Or doesnt the order matter....?
