If you make a clean selection, its not hard to deal with this.
What I normally do is first duplicate the bumper layer and disable the original.
Keeping it in reseerve in case I screw up.
Then I will re-select the duped bumper layer (hold ctrl key and click on the frame section of the layer in layer pallet).
Then I would try to get as close as possible with a hue/saturation adjustment.
With the selection still active grab a new layer.
Use the color picker to select the color of the car where the bumper meets it.
Use a soft medium sized brush to lay some color on to get as close of a blend as possible.
Always use the original picture as a guide in terms of shading.
Use a few layers if needed to separate shades, that way you can always recover from a mis-cue and not have to start all over.
Then when your done, merge the layers and erase the color over the vents.
Last would be the highlites.
Here I would disable the color layers I just did to be able to see the bumper again, use the pen or lasso to select the highlites and on a layer above my color layers fill the selections with white. Turn back on the color layers and adjust opacity and blur the edges accordingly.
You will be surprized how easy it is to do and it gets easier with practice.
