Default The Saab 9000

Well, here's the new addition to the family... 1996 Saab 9000 EcoPower And just because it's called an EcoPower doesn't mean it's slow. It's in fact a 2.3 turbo with 170hp standard, and ridiculously easy to tune - Stage 3 remap and it's got 300hp, with the standard engine being able to cope with upto 500hp. A definite bargain from ebay - £155 MOT'd and taxed... Only problem was a leaky head gasket, but it managed the 200 miles to it's new home, only needing to stop three times for the water to be topped up... But that problem's now fixed. A few rusty bits here and there and dents on the passenger side doors, but good for it's age and miles (137,000).

It's had a slight makeover since these pictures were taken. It's wheels have had a cheap and quick refurb and are now graphite colour, and the rear of it has been debadged (apart from the main Saab badge in the centre), along with being given a Pistonheads smilie. The headlight wipers have also been removed for the meantime as the motors are a bit sticky which gave it a lovely wonky eye look lol

I'll update with more pictures when I get a chance... And don't worry Vectra fans, we still have it

First thing that struck me was that it's RHD, one of the things I love about PSC is that members are from all around the world.

Nice looking ride.

lol yeah, that's the idea with this thing. Suprised a few Audis already on the dual carriageways, even kept up with a new WRX Impreza

Also forgot to metion, it has a dump valve as standard so that's disconnected from the inlet circuit and is now dumping happily into the atmosphere, which makes for some hilarious moments when people expect to see an Evo or a Scooby coming round the corner lol
It has also developed some sort of turbo leak in the past couple of weeks, but we're slowly narrowing down what that could be...

Got some excellent news about the Saab!

The boost leak is fixed!

And we've also discovered it's been converted to a full pressure turbo at some point, which means it has around 200hp, not 170hp like it's meant to have

Okay!
What do you guys think about matte blacking the Saab?...

Matte black with yellow calipers, engine bay pipes and so on... Along with an aftermarket FM intercooler (possibly a square number plate mounted to the side of the bumper) and bonnet raisers

And here's a lovely pic of it to look at while you mull it over

Not into sticker bombing tbh and not wanting to go with green because that's turned into the whole Monster Energy 'scene'...

Would love a set of these on it Piccyture (matte black, of course) with the inlayed writing in yellow and possibly a yellow lip
It's got a black PH sticker on the arse of it just now that will have to be changed to a yellow one. Possibly have "You Look, You Lose" somewhere on it too lol

Needs lowered, I know...
But it now has a new engine (my other half blew up the old one ¬_¬)
Black leather seats
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s
HKS dump valve (okay, it's a chinese copy)
and a lovely straight through exhaust with decat

Left???... Lol it's been mapped for this power :P Standard it's only meant to have 170hp.
Just need a 3" downpipe and it can be mapped for 300hp xD

At what point do you need to go to a bigger turbo/injectors?

Well, standard it had a T25 turbo, but we've upgraded it to the bigger TD04 which is the standard Aero turbo, but that'll quite happily take 300hp with a 3" downpipe.
After 300hp is when you need to get a bigger turbo yet, bigger injectors, tubular manifolds, etc...
