yeah. only the rear one. rest of the exhaust is 1,5" original.

Imprezas only have 2.0L flat-4s (granted the newer models have 2.5s but they're not as popular for tuning), and they sound like V8s with a decent exhaust setup.

True. The Vectra actually does sound like a high revving V8 in the higher gears, but lower down it's really raspy... Like a rally car

Well guys, the Saloon of Doom has been tampered with again After being to Classic Ford Show at the weekend we've decided to make the Vectra into a road/race car.

Filling in where the trim is because it just refuses to stay on anymore.

It has been given a new induction kit.

And has been on a strict diet.

Unfortunately... right now it's sitting in a car park a few miles away, stuck in fifth gear with the gear stick no longer attached to anything...

That's cool, but would kinda defeat the purpose of why we stripped it out lol. Planning on taking it back down to Santa Pod next year and blasting it down the strip

SIDE PIPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, it's not a proper side pipe that runs down the side of the car, but it does poke out the side of the rear bumper
And it makes one hell of a noise

Hmm... We've thought a lot about how we're going to lower this thing.

Cutting the springs would definately be the cheaper option, but I'm not too keen on having that done to a car that I'll be driving at some point... and I'm not too sure that the MOT station would be too pleased about it.
Coilovers would definately be a good investment. The Astra Coupe has adjustable ones and they make it handle like it's on rails, but also make the ride back-breaking.
Simple lowering springs would probably be the best bet for this car, but they lack the adjustability that coilovers have... and we're wanting it as low as possible.

Get coilies then my mate has ones that go down to 120mm :P Coilovers are roughly around £1200 though.

Sounds like coilovers would be a better idea tbh. The car has quite a bit of potential. Any videos of what it sounds like with the induction kit? Please don't say it's one from halfords :P

Are any easy ish upgrades of the engine available? Should fly pretty fast down the strip.

This is the video of it when it got it's first exhaust done, but not with the induction kit and side pipe... I'll maybe get an updated one. No, it's not from Halfords... It's homemade... (dunno which ones worse lol).
Throttle bodies are the easiest mod to do to the engine. The ones my other half has been looking at just bolt straight on without the need to change the ECU or anything.
We'll see what time it does down the strip when we take it to Santa Pod next year

Sounds pretty raspy! Cool sound. It would make a great 'sleeper' car - hope it is one day
