Costed me $24,000 (CAD), I talked him down about $6,000 and in the end I feel like it was a good deal. That interior is stock on my car, it doesn't come on regular mazdas. Mine is the limited edition speed model.
Thanks for the comments.

Mmmm 2.3L turbo'd and AWD. Love the 6 MPS, and with all-wheel-drive you don't get absolutely horrible torquesteer like you do on the 3 MPS. Nice car, good find.

I'm gunna say yes, it made a difference. Turbo runs a lot richer and smoother, about 10 horses added on and car just feels great. Sounds really good, makes the stock bpv sound about 10 times louder. Great mod for this type of car.
As for the cover plate, are you referring to the tmic cover? If so, then its not a legal issue but Mazda strongly recommends you do not take it off. Might have something to do with the air flow that cools the car, as I have 2 scoops right underneath the hood by the grill. I could be wrong but I don't see why I would take it off.

no i was refering to the pod filter , in aus , aparently its illegal to leave a pod filter uncovered , not a sealed box just like a cover plate over the top of it , sounds silly i know , just not sure if other countries have a similar law
edit : woohoo 800th post

For the pod filter, I have absolutely no idea to be honest. As for the exhaust that won't come for a while... it's not an important mod for me and they are kinda pricey. Also won't be looking at boost controllers for a while, I'm pushing enough psi stock lol.
For what else I have planned, improved boost tubes (colder/hotter), cobb turbo inlet pipe, maybe a forge bpv or another aftermarket bov, thicker intercooler, ect. After all that I can chip it with the access port and the thing will fly... These are just the beginning mods though... I plan to build this thing for a while.
Cosmetic mods are also on their way, same with suspension. coils, new rims, grille, tail lights... I could go on for pages.
All in good time . Just waiting for the cash flow.

no such thing as too much boost. youre only making too much boost when you blow your engine. then it means its time to build your engine stronger.

Wouldnt put a boost controller on a Stock turbo even yet a un modified motor, you could harm the engine, i thought u would have gone for the cold air intake since its a turbo but thats just me, i like the car, nice find im about to post mine

Don't plan on putting a boost controller anytime soon (or ever). Maybe when I rebuild the engine in about 75,000 kms, lol. And a CAI isn't the #1 option for my car. The hp and tq was the exact same when dyno'd with a mazdaspeed CAI and a mazdaspeed SRI (for my car). The engine bay in my car gets so hot that when the cold air actually gets to the TIP and then eventually to the turbo it's already warm. All cars work different I guess, but thats just the case for mine. Also, you can't fit a FMIC with a CAI where as a SRI you can. And concidering a SRI is about half the price as a CAI, it just seemed like the best option for me.
I look forward to seeing your ride.
