here is my project... toon a dirt late model of my friends.. oh this is my 1st toon... and im probly doing way diff from what you would..

lol no i dont think it is done in paint! lol well your lines are choppy and your colour is a little unrealistic considering its suppose to be a toon!

is it even a real car?

if youre going to try tooning, do yourself a favor, and learn to use the pen tool. a good tutorial is in vipFREAK's sig. youve got a ways to go in terms of cleaning things up.

I'm going to take a stab at this...

My guess is you made a new layer above the original car and traced over it with the brush tool. Next you probably either used the fill bucket or the "Magic Wand" (aka crapstick) to select the areas to put the color.

Around the borders for the lines there is a thin aliased line that goes between the color and the outline, these needs to be fixed. My suggestion to you is to make the outline layer have a blending mode called "Multiply." After that, put it above a layer for the paint color, you can then paint right over the lines with the brush tool and it will blend right in without going over the outlines.

There are more than a hundred different ways to do this, and you probably chose one of the bottom methods. Familiarize yourself with the program and try to find which way best suits you. Please look at the tutorial section for hints as well.

If you need any help with anything else let me know. Good effort, I’m sure your friend appreciates it.

Omi, you hit the nail on the head.. lol.. if i was wanting to do a actual toon i would of followed a tutorial. like i said, this was for fun and just somethin to do. and yes, my friend loved it from the 1st picture, being its his car

but i have to agree this is preobly not the best way to do a toon but its original and thats a gd thing ........... right????
