Default WIP: Audi Wagon. Steps shown.

Been workin on this for the last day or three when I'm bored.

Here's a disection of the progress thus far

Basic shape to serve as a background for the rest of the work:


Basic shading of the body:


Basic highlights added:


Doorlines and detailed shading for reflection added:


Detail highlights added on the body.


Using Color Overlay to add color to the layers.


Starting on the windows, using a base grey for the pillars and surround.


Adding in the glass and minor shading adjustment for the buildings in the reflection.


Shading for the reflections in the glass and details of the pillars and surround.


highlights on the pillars and surround.


.. and that's where I stand as of now.

It was wrecked last year in a multi-car collision. A blind-crest, a 55mph zone, and a funeral procession going the opposite way added up to the totalling of my Dart. I loved the car, the entire 8mos I owned it.

Okay thanks, I figured I might be trying to do these the wrong way.. er, at least probably the hard way. I've kinda figured out how to do similar progression in the painting part, but I've just been using various related colors to build up the highlights and shadows over a base color outline mask versus starting in the greytones first.

I'd like to see more steps of the process as you complete this one.
