I was wondering which program you guys and girls are using to make these cartoon cars. I am looking at them and I can't make myself believe that they were made in Photoshop. I try making my in Photoshop but I can never get my lines as perfect as most of the ones in here are. Could someone please fill me in on the program that you all are using, because it sure isn't Photoshop.

That would be a big NEGATIVE, lol.
I personally use photoshop for my vector art. Most of us use the pen tool, which is the "P" button while in photoshop. You simply click in one spot around the body, and you let go. Then you click somewhere along the body down the line, and drag it to match the curvature of the car. Use very little "nodes" (or little dots, each new one is when you click with the pen tool) to make a really smooth line around the car. Once you have the line drawn, you can go back and edit it , and manipulate it with the "DIRECT SELECTION TOOL" and the "PATH SELECTION TOOL."

Once you get done outlining the whole car, without the wheels, you go to your brush, and make it about 3 or 4 pixels wide. Make a new layer, then you grab the "DIRECT SELECTION TOOL" and right click on "STROKE PATH." Then a menu will come up, and you then choose "BRUSH" and click "SIMULATE PRESSURE" and then you will have a line around the path in which you have selected.

To save your path, go to the path tabs, or go to "WINDOW>PATHS" located near the mid-bottom.

That's all I have time for right now. For the inside lines I suggest 1 or 2 pixels for the brush. Keep your node count to a minimum, and your lines will be good.

Thanks for the info. I was using the pencil, brush, and line tool to do the outline of the car. I take it that when you use the pen tool it auto corrects iself to make it straight?

Once again, thanks for the help, I should be able to do some better cartoons now.
