but how do you make a single color-to-transparent gradient. i have a light yellow background and want to add a light blue-to-transparent gradient. i tried a couple things but it never came out worth a crap. help!

to make it into a transparent gradient then you click on the gradient type buttons and go to the second one, thats how you do fading gradients.

hmmm, I think you 2 confused me even more than before? I think he wants to make a gradient that is a solid color on one end and the other end is clear(in other words no color at all), dunno if that's what you guys are trying to tell killercamaro...

yeh to have it go from solid to nothing then click on the gradient styles button and then click on the second preset. It'll make it so when you do it the primary color will be solid on one side and fade into nothing....

Your making me sound like a newb GS, what and where is the gradient styles button?

Oh, wait...ok, I think I got it....click on the gradient tool>click to open gradient picker(on the top bar)>make sure it's on presets(click reset gradients if not)>the second color on the choices is Foreground to Transparent, click that>now click on the color(click to edit Gradient)>click the bottom left arrow on the slider bar(color menu should highlight)>click on the color arrow>click user color>use the eyedropper to select your color......

A little more complicated than GS's explaination but that's how I like to do it ....thanks for the assistance GS, finally got what you were sayin ....
