Plastic Models Anyone???
I was just wondering if anyone here builds/modifies plastic models? I figure that this is a car board so there may be some people that do. Anyways, here is a car that I have been working on for a while now. It is a '55 Chevy.
I chopped the roof off and replaced it with a roof from a '58 Chrysler. All of the door handles and side moldings have been removed and door seams have been filled in. Here are some pictures of this project and another 2 motors that I am building. One is for a '69 Camaro, and the other is for a '41 Willys Street Rod. The motor on the '55 needs to be retouched and so do the Nitros tanks.

that model is awesome! I wish I had more time to do stuff like that, in the cupboard is a 1992 Williams Formula 1 car half completed, but i mainly collect die cast models.
At the moment i have.
R34 GT-R V-specII NUR
Evo 7 rally car
S15 silvia
Apex'i D1 RX-7
Datsun 240z
Nissan Prince skyline
Toyota AE86 Levin
There all on my desk at work.... they look awesome.
But Sometime, I want to try a full custom model like yours.

I was into models for so long, but unfortunately we're in the middle of getting a house so all my stuff is in storage. And yeah, I'm just like you nastone, I modified everything I touched. I can't wait to get some of my stuff back out and start modeling again. Should be within the next couple months or so....BTW, good work..

Thanks guys. I will try and keep this thread updated with new pics of this car. I picked up 2 more models tonight. I got a '69 Charger and a '67 Malibu. I think the Malibu is going to be another Pro-Street job.
BTW: Nice Cuda fattie. I used to have a Purple one that I built a few years back, but paintballs and model cars don't mix..... LOL

The thumbnail images look alright, but when you click on them to see the larger pic, I can't make out a thing. Can you take some more pics?

sweet looking custom, mate
i used to be into models
i built a car with a custom chassis made of scraps of other kits, corvette suspension, then with a lime flat green VW body on top, and a blown hemi up front
it was prety cool, i was pretty proud of it
i've got a Pinto as well, with custom parts and whatnot
i'll see if i can find them, i'm sure they're still around somewhere

I have a half finished corvette GS.. along with a half-built viper. The corvette has full engine detail, and has 90% of it put together. I have interior fully painted and installed in the body but I haven't put it together I don't think. I painted the body but forgot the hood so I was like f*k it. I want to get a nice, cheap, tamiya evo model soon.

Update On One Motor
Here is an update of one of the motors I have been working on. I added a new distributor and a set of wires. I also made 2 fuel fittings and lines for the sides of the carbs.

Im bumping this thread because its awesome!
Im building a 67 camaro now, I started the tubs today and so far its looking sweet. I dont know where to buy engine parts, Rear slicks etc though.
Its 1/18th scale, so its a bit bigger than the usual.
