Connecting the DVR Expander
In order for you to connect your DVR Expander to your TiVo, you must first have a TiVo Series3, TiVo HD, TiVo Premiere, or TiVo Roamio DVR or the TiVo Bolt!
- Unplug the TiVo DVR.
- Connect theeSATAcable between the DVR Expander and the TiVo DVR. (Do not use a USB cable to connect to TiVo)
- Plug in the DVR Expander. The power LED illuminates.
- Wait approximately 15 seconds for the hard drive to warm up.
- Plug in the TiVo DVR.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note:Some models of the \'My Book AV DVR Expander\' from Western Digital include a USB cable in addition to theeSATAcable, but only theeSATAconnection is supported for use with the TiVo DVRs. If you have connected a DVR Expander using the USB connection, disconnect the USB cable and follow the steps using theeSATAcable.

High-capacity One Terabyte DVR expander. Add extra hours of HD storage to your DVR. For example: if you have a 250GB DVR currently then by adding 1TB of space you will have about 5 times the original storage space for your recorded movies and TV shows; with a 500 GB DVR, adding 1TB will give you a total of about 3 times the original space!
