The original firmware for PC was exchanged for an Amiga compatible one. The firmware is HxC compatible and can handle eg B. Updates via USB. The drive also works on Atari, Amstrad, Schneider and Sinclair computers as well as on synthesizers and samplers (Akai S900 / S950).
The OLED display shows information such as file names etc. on.

Installation:
You can replace your old floppy disk drive with the Gotek drive.
The drive is the same size as a standard PC drive with a front panel.
Please note that, depending on the Amiga housing type, it may be necessary to make adjustments there in order to access the controls and the USB slot. Alternatively, you can also lead longer cables outside.
To use the drive, simply copy the boot and configuration files and the desired floppy disk images onto a USB stick.
On your Amiga / Atari / Schneider you can then assign the image files, eg ADF, to individual positions. (Position 001 to 999)
The OLED display on the drive always shows the current position number and the file name.

Not all USB sticks work. This depends on the memory chip and is not due to the Gotek drive or the updated firmware!
Amiga 1000 Kickstart floppy disks cannot wait to be started from the GOTEK drive.
